Booked The Sussex Arts Club on Wednesday 19th October. £75 (hire) + £52.50 (Technician). Ms. Fontaine to play this night (£120 + travel). At present there are no other acts for the Wednesday. Need to book bands and work out the situation regarding fees.

The Sanctuary is booked on Sunday 12-5 for spoken word.

Freebutt is booked for Saturday night.
Charlotte is looking in to booking the Freebutt for Friday night.

Need to look in to the Hanbury Ballroom for Saturday night. Lianne to do this?

Paradise Island were suggested as a band to bring over. The cost for this would either be €200 or £200. Lianne looking in to this.

Deerhoof would be touring at the time.
Should they play Ladyfest?
Discussion over whether their female quota was high enough. Also discussions over the size of venue needed to put on Deerhoof and Electrelane.

After-hours:
Need to sort out all the club nights.-- Possible locations:
Hanbury Ballroom
Engine Room – possible PA problems
Storm
Core Club – Friday night possible tie-up with ‘The Do’
Enigma
Candy Bar – may be shutting down after Pride
Club New York – possible tie-up with ‘Entertainment’

We have the Engine Room all day on Sunday.
Need to find out how late we can have it on Sunday.
Try to get the Engine Room for £200.

Stella suggested a group of 5 female DJs that would be interested in playing after-hours. Need to make contact with Charlotte.

ART

Booked St. Andrews Church from Tuesday 18th.
Wednesday is the first day open to the public.
Thursday is the private view.
Red is sending Laura the conditions imposed by the space.
The theme of the exhibition was discussed. It was decided the exhibition should have an open theme but the idea of zine art was suggested as part of the exhibition.
A tie-up with Mad Brighton was suggested.
Discussions about approaching the Gorilla Girls.
Do we take a commission on every piece of art sold or do we expect the artists to donate their work for cost?

FILM

Film screenings will take place at either 11-5 or 12-5 at The Marlborough.

We have mental health funding for films and therefore it would be good to show some films dealing with mental health issues.

Need to come up with 5 hours of film programming.

Do we want to theme the days?
Show two features, one each day.
Have short fiction / documentaries leading up to the feature each day.

EMAILS

Charlotte to set up Gmail accounts for the various different groups. Invite to Ladyfest-steering email needs to go out to those at the meeting.

BENEFITS

John Wood has set up a benefit featuring Hello Cookoo (sp?) on 23/8

LOGISTICS

Red has paid for 500 wrist bands.
Rich is going to design the wristbands and will need the specifications from Red.
We are projecting sales of 100 weekend passes at £40.
There are ‘numbers’ problems with all the people with passes trying to get in to some venues. We also have to take into account people that are allowed ‘free’ entry as well as those that may want to just buy a ticket for the particular show. In order to solve this it has been suggested that there be a cut off time for priority access to wristband wearers. After this point they can still get free access but will have to queue with everyone else.
Do we post out the wristbands or have them available for collection from a certain place everyday.
